Brian Eno heeft een optreden aangekondigd dat hij ‘Together for Palestine’ noemt.
Dat staat gepland voor 17 september as. en vindt plaats in het Wembley-stadion.
Eno werkt samen met Khaled Ziada, Khalid Abdalla en Tracey Seaward aan een lijst ‘artists, musicians and people for whom silence feels impossible.
‘I’ve had the good fortune to work with some of the world’s most remarkable artists for over 50 years. But one of my biggest regrets is that during that time so many of us have remained silent about Palestine.’
‘every penny donated’ zal ten goede komen aan Palestijnse organisaties via Choose Love, een Engelse liefdadigheidsorganisatie die lokale organisaties in oorlogsgebieden steunt.
Ook is het concert een manier om ‘sending a message of love and solidarity to the people of Palestine – that they haven’t been forgotten.
We see them, we hear them, and though we may be far away, we’re deeply connected – as we are to all humanity.’
Eno heeft zich ook in het verleden diverse keren uitgesproken tegen het Israëlische geweld tegen Palestijnse burgers.
