Go, Harry, go!
Texan Harry Bodine made two CDs with a mixture of southern rock, blues, soul and funk with singer Michael Milligan as Delta Roux. Now Bodine surfaces again with nine new songs and two drastically changed ones from their first group effort.
Musically he once again crosses the entire South, from Austin to the Mississippi Delta and from Memphis to New Orleans in contagiously swinging medium-tempo songs and ballads.
Still with drummer Matt Ryan, but with different bassists and keyboardists, Bodine’s crystal clear, rootsy production is moren open than before. Not only does the eager rhythm section attract maximum attention that way, but so do the gospel influences in the backing vocals ánd Bodine’s inspired slide solos. With his lyrical tone he expresses more now in fewer notes. His shuffling vocals are melancholic ánd fiery. This way there are soulful guitar solos to be heard for the fans, but beautiful songs throughout too.
